Emily Shonk, BS, CT

Hi there! Taking the first step toward counseling can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive space where you can show up exactly as you are—without feeling like you need to have everything figured out. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, eating concerns, self-esteem struggles, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to help you work toward meaningful change.

Hi, I’m Lydia, and I’m currently completing my clinical internship while earning my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Kentucky. Before beginning my counseling career, I spent more than 20 years in executive leadership roles, where I learned the importance of authentic relationships, thoughtful communication, and helping people navigate high-pressure situations with confidence and compassion.

I started Serenity because I believe that mental health services should be accessible to all. I take pride in our all-inclusive practice. We welcome everyone with respect to race, religion, culture, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and socio-economic status. We regularly serve the LGBTQ+ community, the deaf and hard of hearing community, and those in AOD recovery.

Gabriella Lawson, BA, CT

You don’t have to have everything figured out before asking for help. Sometimes, the first step is simply finding someone who will listen without judgment. As a clinical counseling intern, I believe therapy begins with feeling seen, heard, and accepted. I strive to create a warm, welcoming space where you can be yourself, explore what you’re experiencing, and move toward meaningful change at your own pace.
