Supportive, skill-building group sessions designed to promote healing, personal growth, and emotional well-being in a safe, affirming space.
- Service Overview
Comprehensive Group Therapy & Skill Building
Group therapy addresses the way we think, feel, and behave by integrating mind, body, and spirit into the healing process. Our groups provide safe, affirming spaces that empower participants to learn new skills, process personal challenges, and achieve inner peace.
We offer both Open groups (where members can join at any time) and Closed groups (structured cohorts with dedicated start dates), available via hybrid options to participate in-person or remotely.
Current clients receiving individual therapy with us can join a group by discussing it with their therapist. To join a waitlist or learn more, contact our Intake Department at 614-948-3273 or email intake-mail@phoenix-mhrs.org.
Skilled Group Leaders
Led by licensed therapists experienced in trauma-informed therapy, neurodivergence, and evidence-based modalities.
Open & Hybrid Formats
Flexible options allowing you to join ongoing open groups or structured closed series, in-person or online.
Practical Coping Tools
Learn actionable strategies for mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and healthy communication.
Safe & Inclusive Space
Affirming environments that honor each person's unique experiences across all cultures, identities, and backgrounds.
DBT Skills Building Group (limited spots: adults, 18+)
If intense emotions, relationship stress, impulsive reactions, or everyday overwhelm have been getting in the way, our DBT Skills Building Group may be a helpful place to start.
This closed 5-week group teaches practical DBT skills to help participants pause, cope, communicate, and respond more effectively to difficult situations. Participants will learn about mindfulness, dialectics, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Dialectics is one of the foundations of DBT and helps us practice balancing acceptance and change while recognizing that two things can be true at the same time.
This is a structured skills group rather than a processing group. Participants who complete the 5-week basic skills group may be eligible to transition into an upcoming DBT processing group for continued practice and support.

CBT Group Change your thinking, tame your feelings, change your life.
Designed specifically for individuals struggling with depression and anxiety, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the primary, evidence-based modality used to transform negative thought patterns, manage anger, and reduce everyday stress.
Your group leader guides skill-building exercises to help members build effective coping mechanisms, boost self-esteem, improve interpersonal relationships, and promote lasting personal change. (Workbook by Dr. Barry M. Gregory recommended).
Open group format—join at any time to start your journey.
